MOVING OUT? 10 TIPS FOR A SMOOTH TRANSITION

These are general tips which do not supercede the specific instructions between landlord and tenant in their lease agreements or any other written agreements between landlord and tenant.

1. All notices must be in writing at least 60 days prior to the end of your lease term and delivered in accordance with the Notice instructions in your lease agreement.

2. Provide an address for forwarding any security deposit less any expenses.

3. All properties are subject to a move out inspection and tenants must be present to initial and sign the move out inventory sheet.

4. According to the terms of the lease, the unit must be returned to the same condition it was delivered at move in. If tenant has painted a different color on the walls, they need to repaint it, unless specifically directed in writing by the landlord not to. If tenant does not clean the unit thoroughly, we will hire cleaners and deduct the fee from the tenant’s security deposit. Any damage repair costs will also be deducted from the deposit.

5. If there is a fireplace in the unit, Tenant must have it professionally cleaned before moving.

6. The last day of the lease is the day tenant must be out. Any extra days will be charged a prorated amount of the monthly rent.

7. Please set the thermostat to 78 degrees in summer months and 65 degrees in winter months.

8. It is the tenant's responsibility to inform the utility companies, including gas, electric, cable, water and sewer, of the last day they will be in the space.

9. Remove all trash from the unit according to trash removal policies at the property.

10. Keys for unit, mailbox and any remotes for the garage, ceiling fans, or other appliances for which tenant was provided a remote must be returned within 3 business days after tenant moves out and will be considered received by Texas Realty & Management LLC upon return of the items during the move out inspection or if mailed to P O Box 38 Missouri City, TX 77459 with an express or other signature required delivery option that will provide a tracking number. Once received, keys and remotes will be signed for by management. If the mailing method of delivery is used, a receipt will be mailed to the forwarding address tenant has provided.
